The Deepings Woodturner (CRAFT GALLERIES) (TASMANIA) (Australia)

Working workshop/gallery. Deepings dolls. Range of household & decorative items using native S.W. Tasmanian timber. Corporate gifts. Tuition available on prior arrangement.

Discover the world of the Deepings Dolls ( Handmade Australian Dolls) – a collection of hand-turned wooden figurines with painted historical costumes and details.

Each Deepings Doll is a unique work of hand made australian art. Far more detailed than the wooden dolls that inspired them, such as the Russian Baboushka or the Gypsy peg doll, they are hand-turned figurines of Tasmanian White Sassafras, their costumes individually hand-painted by a range of Australian artists.

The images and descriptions on this website are designed to give you a general concept of each character type, but the doll you order will be a hand-painted, one-of-a-kind interpretation of that character.
